I measured the humidifier fan as drawing 60 watts. That won't change - if we run it for eight hours, it will pull nearly half a Killowatt hour. Of course, that doesn't reflect its true operating cost: those filters are expensive and we were using a fair amount of vinegar to clean it.

Will this save us money? These things are so hard to calculate. We never use our A/C. Well, we have turned it on for guests, but even that is unusual. It's a terrible waste of money and resources.
